A day for
a good cause.
An unusually hot day, a park full of dogs, and a little reminder of why I love photographing people coming together.
Right in the middle of it all.
As far as I remember, it was a very hot day. I got sunburnt, and there was a lot happening at once. Dogs everywhere, families, people stopping at stalls, and a crowd gathering to watch the dog parade.
What I loved most was where it all happened. Centennial Park feels like its own little oasis, even though Paddington and the city are so close. For a few hours, there was this whole community doing something good, tucked away inside a huge green space.

A little bit of everything.
I volunteered on the day, mostly taking photos and handing out flyers. I also helped with setting up and keeping things moving as the event unfolded. It was busy, and honestly, the heat didn't help — but seeing everyone turn up for the animals made it worth it.
I met some lovely people that day. We didn't necessarily keep in touch afterwards, but I still remember how easy it was to talk to people when everyone was there for the same reason. And of course, I got to meet a lot of dogs.

The kind of day that stays with you.
It wasn't a glamorous day. I was sweating, sunburnt, carrying things around and trying to catch moments as they happened. But looking at these photos now, what stands out is how happy everyone seemed — especially around the parade.
I'm glad I brought my camera. Some days are worth remembering exactly as they were.
